Member of Parliament for Carlisle

In 2010 John was elected Conservative MP for Carlisle with a majority of 853. He was the first Conservative to be elected as MP for Carlisle since 1959. In 2015 he was re-elected with an increased majority of 2774.

John organises and hosts an annual Carlisle Skills Fair. The event is a huge success attracting over 2500 jobseekers and young people and 80 businesses, organisations and training providers from the Carlisle constituency.

He has a keen interest in business, education and local government reform and was a member of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee during the last Parliament.

Ann McKerrell

City Councillor for Dalston and Burgh Ward

Ann is a Conservative Councillor for the Dalston Ward to the South of the City. She can be contacted on 01228 710963. Ann is also one of the two Deputy Chairman of the Carlisle Association.

Ann says: "I have lived in Dalston for 53 years. It has been my Family home since 1940 when my Grandfather was relocated here as the Village Policeman during the war.

"My Husband and I own and run Caldew Coaches Ltd which we established in 1992, specialising in transport for people with special needs. Our two sons have joined us since they left school.

"I am proud to be City Councillor for Dalston Ward and hope to serve the area to the best of my best ability as long as the people I represent want me too."
